Caren Lombard CFA, CPA, CA, M Comm
UBC Sauder School of Business, Lecturer, Finance Division
Caren Lombard is a lecturer at UBC’s Sauder School of Business. She is a CPA and CFA and has worked inpost-secondary education in Canada since 2012. Caren has a Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (FSA) credential from IFRS Foundation and she is part of the 2023 cohort of the Accounting4Sustainability Academy. She developed a new course for the business school – Climate-focused ESG reporting and analysis. Prior to post-secondary education, Caren spent 15 years working in industry in South Africa and Canada. At the Business Development Bank of Canada and Export Development Canada her focus was on providing entrepreneurs with mezzanine and growth capital financing. Caren started her career at Deloitte in South Africa and moved to Canada in 2000. Caren received the 2022/2023 Teaching Excellence Award from the UBC Commerce Undergraduate Society.
Laura Baker
Director, Institutional Equity Sales, Global Markets, CIBC Capital Markets
Laura Baker works on the Institutional Equity Sales desk in Vancouver, managing relationships with institutional portfolio managers, providing market commentary and generating trade ideas. Laura began her career at Macquarie Commodities and Global Markets in their Equity Rotational Program. Before joining CIBC, she worked as an equity research associate at TD Securities, covering the Metals and Mining space. Laura is actively involved in Women in Capital Markets, helping to create programs to achieve equity across the financial industry. Laura created and runs the Capital Markets High School Initiative, an educational program for students across Canada. Laura graduated from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Commerce. “Retired” varsity basketball player that continues to live a very active lifestyle, recently completed and Ironman 70.3 triathlon.
Samantha Tennant CFA, CPA, CA
Seymour Investment Management, Partner & Portfolio Manager
Samantha is a Partner and Portfolio Manager at Seymour Investment Management, a boutique investment counselling firm founded in Vancouver. She began her career at PwC where she achieved her Chartered Accountant designation before going on to become a CFA charterholder. In 2017 Samantha joined the Seymour team to help high net worth families achieve their long term investment goals. Born and raised in Vancouver, Samantha enjoys getting involved in her community. She is a long-standing board member of Backpack Buddies, an organization that provides weekend meals to children in need. She also sits on the Finance Committee for the Vancouver Lawn Tennis and Badminton Club and is a mentor to young women in business. In her spare time you will often find her skiing up on Whistler Blackcomb, travelling or hiking and exploring the BC Mountains with her beloved family and friends.
Kellyanne Yep, CIM, RIAC

Kellyanne is an Associate Portfolio Manager and Investment Advisor with the Crowe Private Wealth Group within CG Wealth Management. Crowe Private Wealth has been named one of Canada’s Top Wealth Advisors and Top Women Wealth Advisors by The Globe and Mail, with consistent national recognition for their approach in working with accomplished individuals and families across Canada and the USA. As a holder of the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation and Responsible Investment Advisor Certification (RIAC), Kellyanne is skilled in structuring portfolio strategies and guiding and supporting clients to achieve their long-term goals. She is passionate about positive impact and empowering young voices within our community, with the majority of her involvement centred upon youth and young women in business. Currently, Kellyanne serves on the organizing and advisory committee of Sports Celebrities Festival Gala in support of Special Olympics BC and the advisory board of the Kappa Kappa Gamma chapter at the University of British Columbia.
